My Story
Hello, I'm Laxman Gyawali.
I am certified trekking guide from Nepal but my experience of Himalaya already started long ago.
I am a retired Nepali Army Administrative Clerk of six year job experience like other seniors I was holding a moderate and secured Government job. But I felt I need to do lot more, not only for myself but also for my nation.
Life after the Army was so much worse than I had expected it to be.
Due to financial hardship I started working on variety of jobs in Kathmandu. I left for India to work with my father in the hospitality industry. I was trying to find myself and the right path. I tested every route I could find and learned each time. I slowly found my motivator.
Throughout this journey, one thought remained constant in my mind:
Despite a wealth of opportunity for some the worlds best sightseeing, trekking, and mountaineering experiences it is often experienced by very few and not in the way they should be.
This moment of clarity totally shifted my perspective.
I made a decision to devote myself to tourism in Nepal and started to create my future as a trekking guide. Nowadays, I use my military discipline, professional safety rules, sound communication abilities, local expertise and serious passion for outdoor activities to help travelers create valuable memories.
My experience in the military gave me many skills valuable in the mountains. Navigation, leadership, risk management and rescue awareness are all traits that I use when guiding. Customers receive my best efforts along with the upmost professionalism and safety consciousness in the mountains.
So far, I have had the privilege of guiding both Nepali and international trekkers through some of the most stunning landscapes in Nepal. I do not view my role as merely transporting people from point A to B, but instead I long to show each traveler the culture, the people, the nature and the soul of Nepal in a way that is memorable for the rest of their lives.
